  Hilary Palmer

Hilary Palmer

Hilary briefly sang with Francis in the ‘Rutterkin’ years and sang and played flute on the first recordings of Secret Green and Merlin’s Ground in 1987.  Hilary went on to study music at University and sang in an Irish folk band, a Jazz & Blues band and recorded overtone vocals for the modern composer David Williams.

On leaving University, Hilary moved to Glasgow and became a chorister in St.Mary’s Cathedral choir for several years before returning back south and marrying the guitarist and songwriter Tim Coulson. Together they perform, and recorded their own compositions on the album: ‘Home’ in 2007.  Hilary and Tim also created the band ‘Walk the Plank’ with Jeanette Rosato and Mark Baker: a melodious cacophony of folk and piracy.

Hilary was reunited with Francis Lickerish in 2006, had the joy of meeting Willie Gilmour and Jon Beedle…

and ‘Secret Green’ began.
